Veneers At Meng Dentistry:

At Meng Dentistry our goal is to guide our patients to the best decision both financially and from a conservation of tooth structure. There are situations in which veneers are great and there are situations in which they are too aggressive. Finding the right solution is not only important to your oral health but for the longevity of your smile. An alternative solution can be bleaching or even bonding.

Veneers can eliminate black triangles or commonly known as the black spaces in between your teeth. However, if the wrong technique is used or veneers are placed incorrectly, one may be left with oversized teeth which lead to a less than harmonious or visually appealing smile.

When choosing veneers, be sure to also choose a dentist that can help you distinguish the most biologically and conservative option. Both Dr. Joe Meng and Dr. Graham Meng are here to help you make that decision and find a treatment plan that is the right solution to your problem and needs.

Transform Your Smile With Veneers

Veneers are an excellent approach to restore proper function and shape to your teeth. Porcelain veneers are a very thin, eggshell thickness of porcelain that is laminated to the existing tooth. The advantage of porcelain veneers is the ability to do very conservative and minimal tooth reduction, and yet be able to re-enamel the entire facial or smiling surface of the tooth. This improves esthetics but more importantly improves the overall strength of the tooth. Limitations for use of veneers include the need for an ideal occlusion or bite relationship and also insufficient remaining enamel to provide adequate bond strength. As long as the enamel is available, the long-term predictability of the veneer is equivalent to a conventional crown. Some situations require minimal preparation, but other areas need more vigorous preparation to cover old restorations or change the bite. If too much preparation is required a crown is more appropriate.

FAQs:

Should I choose a veneer or dental bonding?

Veneers are not a one size fits all solution and not every patient is the right candidate. An  alternative solution is dental bonding and this technique requires less preparation of the tooth structure and in most cases there is less removal of tooth enamel. There are also certain situations in which composite resin or bonding is going to serve a patient better than a ceramic veneer. Bonding can oftentimes also be less destructive. How do I care for my veneers?

Your mouth and gums will likely be sore and uncomfortable for a few days after your procedure. You may also experience some tooth sensitivity from the bonding cement. This discomfort is completely normal and will pass as your mouth heals.

Treat your veneers just like you would your regular teeth—continue to brush them twice daily and floss regularly. Make sure to avoid chewing on anything that can chip your teeth. The better you care for your teeth, the longer your veneers will last.

How much do veneers cost?

Exact pricing for your treatment can only be determined after an exam with one of our highly trained and qualified dentists. No matter what your dental needs, we'll work with you to fit costs into your budget & most treatment costs can be spread over time with low monthly payments.
